dragondicks is right tho, this whole bronies business is getting worse and worse and worse. I’m honestly disappointed that the stalking incident wasn’t reported to the staff pronto at the time, that absolutely everybody there failed to turn in the creep. shame, man…

Idk like I just like the horses I didn’t sign up for this shit

dragondicks:

this week in the brony fandom: people drew porn of a minor’s OC and then blamed the minor for the porn being created / demanded it wasn’t gross of them to do so because “hey, if it’s in the show it’s fair game!”

and also a young girl was stalked by a grown man at a pony convention and when someone told the story online bronies shouted it down and tried to demand it was false, refusing to believe it even when evidence began to surface that it was true

hooraaaay [party poppers, confetti] what an incredibly safe fandom that doesn’t at all advertise itself as a safe space for paedophiles

if the early-on defense of “foalcon” wasn’t a red flag I don’t know what was.

god what a sad week.

I will always point that out. for any fandom, for any group, it doesn’t matter who you are talking about. that is pretty shitty logic to assume everyone is the same. the only thing we all have in common is that we like something. That’s the reason fandoms exist, any other characteristics you can think of do not apply to the fandom, but rather people within it.

It is basic logic, i don’t understand why it is annoying to defend ourselves.

Okay everyone is just joking at the guy so I’ll be the one to explain it.

You like philosophy and logic, okay, we get it, but hey, check it out! We know how logic works too! And yes, of course we understand that, we know, that’s why we don’t mean literally every brony in the whole fuckin planet. Is it unreasonable to assume that we aren’t going on an aimless hate tirade and including every innocent, non-offending person? Can the people making these statements be given this completely rational tiny benefit of the doubt? Or do we have to be needlessly specific like “Why do ONLY CERTAIN NOT ALL BUT THIS PARTICULAR CERTAIN ACT-PERFORMING GROUP OF BRONIES have to perform this act?” Like wouldn’t it just be easier if we said “why do so many bronies perform this act?” or “why do bronies perform this act? As in, why do bronies of all people perform this act?”

Like just last week we had an argument about whether turning the phrase “bros before hoes” that (OBVIOUSLY) only certain dudes use into “literally anything before bros” (to make fun of the expression obviously) was actually a hate tirade against ALL mankind. And you wanna know who put tons of time into thinking that response through? Because *nobody* is the answer. But of course people who got shit to say to criticize bronies, yeah, those people better lawyer the fuck up, right?

Erin has always told me that the best way to not write a crap character is to give a reason to literally everything. Like, maybe I’m focusing way too much on flowcharts and diagrams oh wait a second hold on someone’s ringing the door bell—

I want to write a female character and found this neat thing.
Okay so first things first what does it mean to “carry your own story?” Because I plan on her being a villain who traps the main character into watching bad let’s plays (so he jokes about them to keep him sane, basically it’s a rip-off of that one season of MST3K) but of course I don’t want to make a crappy weak female character in doing so.
So anyway what does it mean? Like, she has her own background story or something?

I LOVE COMPETITIVE SMASH

Pretty much any stage with breakable floors was insta-banned with glee and then they got to the DK stage and they’re like “Why the fuck are we here THAT’S BANNED ALREADY! THAT’S BANNED ALREADY!” lmao I didn’t even know what was going on at first and it was just funny.

(1) Question

I’m on Linux again and I want to eliminate noise in Audacity without using the awful Noise Removal plugin. I want do this by expanding the dynamic range. Basically, loud noises can be louders, soft noises like background static and laptop fans can be quieted. Is there a plugin that does this? Or is there any way to do this, even on Windows?
